Elections and the Role of a
Conscious Voter
Elections are the strong foundation of democracy. The opportunity for the people to choose their representatives at regular intervals is the beauty of the democratic system. The election to be held on Falgun 21 (March 5) is also a very important opportunity for us citizens, where we can use our vote to determine the direction of our country, society and future.
Voting is not just a right, it is also our duty. But while voting, it is necessary to choose the right candidate consciously, not by being swayed by emotions, influenced by pressure, or based on personal interests. Only an honest, capable, people-oriented and development-committed candidate can be the true bearer of social change.
A good candidate is one who understands the people's problems, stays among the people and gives priority to the public interest. A candidate who appears only during election time, gives sweet speeches but forgets the people after winning cannot bring positive change in society. Therefore, it is today's necessity to vote after understanding the candidate's past record, character, qualifications and vision.
Our one vote may seem small, but its value is great. One vote given to the right candidate can have a positive impact on education, health, employment, good governance and development. A wrong decision, however, gives nothing but regret and disappointment. Therefore, it is important to give up the thought, "What difference does my one vote make?"
Finally, let us participate in the election of Falgun 21 not as a mere formal process, but as responsible citizens. Let us choose the right candidate, cast our vote and also make others aware. A conscious voter is the foundation of a prosperous society and a strong democracy.
